Overview

This website is operated by Select Anime, a store of SoirStudio Inc. ("Select Anime", "we", "us", "our"). By visiting our site or purchasing from us, you engage in our services and agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"), together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy, each incorporated here by reference. Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree to them, please do not use our site or place an order.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you.

1. Eligibility

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You agree not to use our products for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any laws applicable to you, including intellectual-property and import laws.

2. Products, Listings & Condition

Select Anime curates high-quality, hard-to-find, and authentic anime collectibles — both pre-owned and new — sourced primarily in Akihabara, Tokyo. Because we deal largely in pre-owned and limited-stock goods:

• Photographs are a representative reference for the listed product, intended to convey its appearance and atmosphere. Where more than one unit of the same product is held, the specific piece dispatched is selected from our graded stock and may be a different individual unit from the one shown.
• The binding description of an item's condition is the condition grade and curator's notes (see our Refund Policy), not the photograph. We make every effort to display colours and details accurately, but screens vary and minor variation is inherent to pre-owned goods; signs of wear consistent with the stated grade are not defects, and are not grounds for return.
• Listings, prices, and availability may change at any time without notice. We may limit quantities and decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including suspected reseller, fraudulent, or high-risk orders.

3. Authenticity & Intellectual Property

Authenticity is central to Select Anime. We sell only genuine, officially licensed merchandise. We do not sell fan-made art, bootlegs, counterfeits, or reproductions. All trademarks, character names, and franchise rights remain the property of their respective rights holders; their appearance in our listings is solely to describe the genuine item offered for sale and does not imply any endorsement or affiliation. If you believe a listing infringes your rights, please contact us through our contact form and we will review it promptly.

Separately, all original content we create for this store — including our product photographs, graphics, layouts, written descriptions, and listing text — is owned or controlled by SoirStudio Inc. ("Select Anime"). Except as permitted by Shopify and its platform functions for the operation of this store, no third party may copy, republish, scrape, adapt, distribute, or otherwise use any part of this content without our prior written permission. Any permission, if granted, is limited to the scope, territory, media, duration, attribution, and fee agreed in writing in advance. Standard licensing for use outside these permitted functions starts at US$10 per item per commenced month. Unauthorised use may be pursued based on at least the applicable licence fee, plus any greater remedies available under law; where use has already begun, any retroactive licence, settlement, or damages may be calculated from the actual start date or, if unknown, from the date the content first became publicly available. No implied licence is granted, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.

4. Pricing, Currency & Payment

All prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated, and are exclusive of shipping, which is calculated at checkout. We reserve the right to correct pricing or description errors and to cancel any affected order, even after it has been placed, with a full refund of any amount charged. Payment is processed securely by our payment providers; we do not store full card details.

5. Orders, Changes & Cancellations

An order confirmation is an acknowledgement of receipt, not acceptance. We accept your order when we dispatch it. Because our stock is limited and we begin preparing them promptly to preserve their condition, orders are final once placed and cannot, as a rule, be changed or cancelled. If you have an urgent concern, contact us through our contact form within 24 hours of purchase and we will make a best-effort attempt to help, without guarantee.

6. Shipping, Customs & Import Duties

Shipping terms, handling and delivery timeframes, carriers, and customs treatment are governed by our Shipping Policy. In summary:

• Shipping is never free. It is calculated by weight and destination and shown at checkout before you pay.
• United States orders are shipped DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): applicable import duties and taxes are calculated and settled in advance, so there is nothing further to pay on delivery.
• Orders outside the United States are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): import duties, taxes, and any brokerage fees are not included in the price or shipping and are the buyer's responsibility, payable to the carrier or customs authority.
• We declare the true nature and value of every shipment. We do not under-declare value or mark shipments as "gift".

7. Risk of Loss, Tracking & Carrier Records

Every order ships with tracking. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon the carrier's confirmation of delivery to the address you provided (or to a designated pick-up point). Carrier tracking data and delivery confirmation are conclusive evidence of dispatch and delivery. You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address and for monitoring your tracking; we are not responsible for loss or delay caused by an incorrect address, an unattended delivery location, or failure to retrieve a held parcel.

8. Returns & Refunds

Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. In short, because our items are largely unique and pre-owned, returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery only where an item is materially different from its listed description or condition grade, and only with prior authorization. Items that match their listing are not returnable.

9. Chargebacks & Fraud Prevention

If you have a concern with an order, please contact us first; we resolve the large majority of issues quickly. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us and following our Refund Policy is a breach of these Terms. In any payment dispute, we will provide the payment provider and card network with our records, including the listing, order confirmation, shipping address you supplied, carrier tracking, and proof of delivery, which together evidence a completed transaction. We reserve the right to decline future service to accounts associated with unwarranted chargebacks.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our site and products are provided "as is" and "as available". Pre-owned items are sold in the condition described and graded, without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, except for any rights that cannot be excluded under the mandatory law of your place of residence. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Select Anime and SoirStudio Inc. and their officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including certain mandatory consumer protections.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Select Anime and SoirStudio Inc. from any third-party claim arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, epidemics, war or civil unrest, customs or government action, carrier or postal disruption, strikes, or failures of telecommunications or payment networks.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and we agree to submit disputes to the Tokyo District Court in Japan, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country or state of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts where such laws so provide. We will always try to resolve any dispute amicably first; please contact us through our contact form.

15. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with the policies referenced above, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding our services.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the current version on this page with an updated date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify customers. Your continued use of the site or placement of a new order after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Where the law requires it, we will seek your renewed consent.
