Where we come from
Select Anime was born in the alleys of Akihabara — Tokyo's legendary district where collectors, artists, and enthusiasts have gathered for decades. Long before anime merchandise became a global phenomenon, this neighbourhood was already the world's most concentrated source of rare, authentic, and meticulously preserved collectibles. We grew up here, and we have spent years learning its rhythms: which dealers earn trust, which items are worth pursuing, and how to distinguish the genuine from the merely good-looking.
Today, from our base in Akihabara, we ship that expertise to collectors across North America and beyond — bringing each carefully sourced piece from our hands to yours.
We have been curating since 2018, and in that time more than 10,000 pieces have found new homes with collectors worldwide — drawn from an ever-growing archive of over 180,000 items, every one genuine, licensed, and condition-graded by hand.
What we do
We are a curated collective, not a marketplace. Every item in our store has been personally sourced and evaluated by our team before it earns a place in our inventory. We work with trusted local dealers, estate collections, and specialist auctions to find pieces that meet our standards — and we decline far more than we accept.
Our inventory spans figures, trading cards, acrylic stands, keychains, plush, apparel, and more, with a focus on titles and releases that hold enduring value for serious collectors.
Authenticity, guaranteed
In a market where counterfeits are a persistent concern, authenticity is not a marketing claim — it is a commitment backed by process. Our curators examine every item against known reference points: manufacturer markings, material quality, packaging specifications, print details, and provenance documentation where available. If an item does not pass, it does not ship.

Our condition grading standard
Describing condition honestly is one of the most important things we do. We use a transparent, six-step scale so you know exactly what to expect before you purchase:

| New | Factory-sealed or never opened. No signs of handling whatsoever. |
| Mint | Opened but in flawless condition. No marks, creases, or wear visible. |
| Excellent | Minor, barely perceptible signs of handling. Displays beautifully. |
| Very Good | Light wear consistent with careful ownership. All components present. |
| Good | Visible but moderate wear. Fully intact and complete. |
| Acceptable | Noticeable wear or minor flaws, clearly described and photographed in the listing. Priced to reflect condition. |
Many of the most cherished pre-loved collectibles in the world have had a previous caretaker — and in our experience, a thoughtful one.
How we ship
The care we take in sourcing a piece does not end at purchase. Each item is individually prepared for international transit using protective materials suited to its type and fragility — archival sleeves, acid-free tissue, bubble wrap, rigid mailers, or reinforced outer cartons as appropriate. Our goal is simple: your item should arrive in the same condition it left our hands.
Every parcel is sent with full tracking from Tokyo. Delivery times after dispatch vary by carrier: Japan Post and Orange Connex typically deliver within 10–21 business days; FedEx and DHL within 3–7 business days.
